Bournemouth West MP, Conor Burns, is calling on the residents of his constituency to help him find the area’s best South Asian Restaurant.
Following the success of the Tiffin Cup 2009, the competition is now into its 5th year and MPs across the UK have once again been asked to nominate a restaurant in their constituency to compete to be named the best South Asian restaurant in Britain.
Last year fifty eight restaurants were nominated from around the country and this time it is hoped to build upon the popularity of this mouth-watering competition, encouraging the participation of as many constituencies as possible, further celebrating the diversity of British culture and recognising the importance of South Asian cuisine.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded every year by the Tiffin Club of MPs, formed in 2006 by former MP John Barrett, Michael Fabricant MP and Keith Vaz MP. The aim is to not only applaud the quality of South Asian food in Britain but also raise much needed money for charity. This year the competition is in aid of the charity ‘World Vision’.
Mr Vaz said, “After the overwhelming success of last year’s competition we are looking forward to another chance to sample some of the best offerings of Indian food in Britain. At the same time we also hope to encourage some healthy competition amongst MPs from all parties, all while raising money for a worthy charity."
Residents of Bournemouth West are urged to nominate their favourite South Asian restaurant in the constituency by the 30th July. Click here to make your nomination >>
“This is a great opportunity for us to show the rest of the UK the great quality of cuisine that we have here in Bournemouth & Poole“, Conor said. “We need to celebrate our local communities, and this is a great chance to do just this.”
Conor will put forward the restaurant that receives the most nominations by the deadline date of 30th July.
